Museum & Battlefield Tours
Discover the story of Bushy Run through a combination of engaging museum exhibits and guided tours of the historic battlefield. Admission includes access to both the museum and battlefield grounds, allowing visitors to explore one of Pennsylvania's most significant colonial-era sites at their own pace or with the assistance of a knowledgeable guide.
Inside the museum, visitors can learn about the events leading up to the Battle of Bushy Run, life on the eighteenth-century frontier, Pontiac's War, military equipment and tactics, Native American cultures, archaeology, and the lasting impact of the battle on the development of western Pennsylvania. Exhibits feature artifacts, interactive elements, and educational displays that bring this important chapter of American history to life.
For those wishing to experience the battlefield itself, guided tours offer an informative look at the terrain, troop movements, and key moments of the battle. Walking tours and golf cart tours are available, allowing visitors of varying mobility levels to enjoy the site. Our golf cart can accommodate up to seven passengers in addition to the guide.
Certified tour guides are generally available during regular operating hours. Guided battlefield tours are typically offered Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Sundays from Noon to 3:00 p.m., subject to staff and volunteer availability. The final tour of the day departs at 3:00 p.m.
Whether you're a first-time visitor, a history enthusiast, or simply looking to spend an afternoon outdoors, a visit to Bushy Run offers a unique opportunity to explore both the museum and the historic landscape where the events of August 1763 unfolded.
